Am I required to have a lawyer?

There’s no requirement for you to have a lawyer to represent you in workers compensation claims. But if you choose to represent yourself, bear in mind that it’s a complex area of the law and there’s no “one size fits all” solution. A skilled lawyer can tailor individual advice to best represent a person’s unique circumstances.

Payment of workers compensation can happen in a variety of ways, including lump sum entitlements, medical expenses, redemption payments and weekly payments. Unexpected expenses

In addition, some unexpected expenses may arise, particularly medical expenses. A workers compensation lawyer will know:
